Private Family Foundation

A tax-exempt charitable organization that you and your family establish and control to support charitable causes through grants. A foundation gives you significant control and a lasting family legacy, but it is subject to annual minimum distribution requirements, an excise tax on investment income, and lower deduction limits than donations to public charities.
