Charitable Lead Annuity Trust (CLAT)

An irrevocable trust that makes fixed annual payments to one or more charities for a set term, after which the remaining assets pass to your family members or other beneficiaries. If the trust's investments grow faster than the IRS assumed interest rate, the excess passes to your heirs with reduced or no gift or estate tax.
